Continuous improvements, plus more

Foundation Improvements

If you’ve been around Workshop Software for any length of time, you’ll know that we work on continuous improvements and evolution.

The past little while, we’ve been working hard on lots of behind the scenes improvements, that sets the foundation for the future of Workshop Software. While you may not have noticed much that’s changed, over the past few months, the system has changed massively.

We’ve worked hard on our foundation to ensure that you get the best performance possible, along with cutting edge technology that will ensure you’re investment in Workshop Software into the future. This includes feature and function enhancements along with performance improvements.

Your feedback in action

Your feedback has helped us shape the future of Workshop Software. Based upon that feedback, there’s some very exciting updates coming before the end of the year. While we can’t reveal too much right now, suffice to say that every user of Workshop Software will see improvements and features that will further enhance your Workshop Software experience and help your business to be even more profitable.

The here and now

Now that we’re beyond our foundational updates, we can start delivering those improvements and updates that you may have been used to in the past. You’ll see a more rigorous implementation of enhancements and updates, to ensure your operation is as streamlined as possible.

Right now, we’ve just released a number of updates, including the following:

  • Improvement to the way parts are returned from Burson EzyParts 2.0 to the booking system
  • Job card number is now shown in the invoice list grids (e.g. Customers) when the invoice is open. Previously this was blank until the invoice was finalised. This makes it much easier to identify invoices, particularly if you have a customer with multiple open jobs (e.g. a fleet company).
  • The mobile number now shows on the invoice and booking screens for “Contact 1” making it simpler to identify and contact your customer.
  • Stock order fix. The Auto Create function previously had an issue where products had a Qty of Null rather than Zero. (A bit tehnical, but it now works fine!)
  • WOF Due Date now shows on Bookings.
  • You can now add a deposit on a quote. Previously the status needed to be Invoice. This makes it simpler and more streamlined to operate. (P.S. As part of our exciting update coming later in the year, one of the new features will be Deposits that flow through to accounting systems, something that a number of clients have asked for. This exciting new update will make it easier for you to manage your banking through your accounting systems)
  • To make it simpler to identify customers with credits and also manage the amount that is outstanding, you can now see the amount owing when performing an invoice/job. If the customer has an outstanding credit, this will also be shown, making it much easier for you to handle payments at point of sale.

Customer balance on invoice.

  • You now cannot split an invoice once the invoice is finalised. There was previously a loophole where you could split the invoice after finalising which caused subsequent issues. There is no logical reason to split once finalised.
  • There was an incorrect tag applied to a “Bill To” customer that said “Capricorn” when the customer was not Capricorn. This has now been fixed.
  • There was an issue where the Vehicle Visuals Link wasn’t getting attached to the Invoice Email Body. This has now been fixed.

As you can see, there have been a number of improvements, and we’ll ensure that there are more to come.

Stay tuned for further announcements, there’s exciting news coming soon.
