A major update to the Workshop Software mobile app is rolling out in the next few days. It answers the request weโve heard more than any other from workshop owners, and it brings customer messaging onto your phone.
One login for web and mobile
Until now, using the mobile app meant setting up a separate mobile user, even if you already had a login for the web app. Plenty of you told us that was a hassle, and you were right.
With this update, general users sign in to the mobile app with the same login they use on the web app. You can be signed in on your phone and your computer at the same time, so you can move between the front counter and the workshop floor without logging in and out.
To make that possible, weโve rebuilt the security system behind the app from the ground up.
One thing to note: if you work as a mechanic in Workshop Software, youโll still need a mobile user, because thatโs what links your mobile activity to your mechanic record. For everyone else, the single login is automatic.
2-way SMS, right in the app
The second part of the Workshop Software mobile app update brings messaging into the app.
When a customer texts your workshop, youโll get a notification on your phone. Open it, read the message, and reply, all from the app. Whether itโs โCan I book in this week?โ or a question about a job in progress, you can answer straight away, wherever you are in the workshop.
Customers who get a fast reply are customers who book. Fewer missed messages means fewer missed jobs, and less time chasing people back at the desk.
When is the Workshop Software mobile app update coming?
Very soon. Keep an eye out inside workshop software for the update.
