Happy New Year.
Before I get into what’s coming at Workshop Software, I just want to pause for a moment. Like many people, the start of this year has been a mix of emotions for me personally, including the passing of someone I’ve always looked up to — a personal hero of mine Rob Hirst of Midnight Oil. Moments like that have a way of making you reflect on what matters, the journey you’re on, and the people you’re building things with.
And that reflection makes me even more grateful for this community, this team, and the work we get to do every day.
So with that said — I wanted to jump on camera and share an update, because this is genuinely one of the most exciting periods we’ve ever had at Workshop Software.
We’ve had a massive start to the year. The team is absolutely pumped, the feedback from customers has been incredible, and what we’ve been building represents a big step forward in how workshops run day to day.
I promised you last year about an exciting update in the new year, and it’s not too far away. Here’s a bit of an idea of what you can expect:
Here’s What’s Coming Next (6 Key Updates)
We’ve got a stack of updates landing — and I want to keep this simple and clear. There are six big things in this release cycle:
1) New Quote Management
We’ve made a big leap forward in the way quotes are created and managed. It’s cleaner, smarter, and gives you more control end-to-end — and it sets the foundation for a few of the other improvements coming right behind it.
2) Archive Customers and Vehicles
This one is simple but powerful: you’ll be able to archive customers and vehicles properly. It helps keep your database clean, reduces clutter, and makes day-to-day searching and management faster — without losing historical records.
3) Deposits
Deposits are coming in a much more practical way — including the ability to integrate with the payment terminal, and have that information flow through properly so it’s easier to track and manage.
4) Workshop Data 1.5
We’re also rolling out what we’re calling Workshop Data 1.5, and this is another really exciting step forward.
This includes:
- Make and model lookups
- Much easier access to service information
- A range of under-the-hood improvements that make finding the right data faster and more intuitive
The goal here is simple: less time hunting around for information, and more time doing the work that actually matters.
5) Mobile App Updates
We’ve also got mobile app updates landing as part of this release cycle. I’ll share more detail on these shortly, but they’re focused on making the workshop-floor experience smoother and improving how your team works on the go.
6) A (very) Exciting Communication Upgrade
There is one more update coming that I’m deliberately keeping a little under wraps… just for now.
What I can say is this:
It’s all about how you communicate with your customers, and how you interact back and forth with them.
This is a big one. A really big one.
And it will fundamentally lift the way workshops engage with their customers.
You won’t have to wait long — I’ll be sharing more on this very soon.
Looking Ahead to 2026
This is genuinely one of the biggest updates we’ve ever delivered.
The team is energised.
Our customers are excited.
And the direction we’re heading in is incredibly clear.
We’re going into 2026 focused, ambitious, and ready to absolutely smash it out of the park — alongside you.
Thank you so much for your support, your feedback, and for being part of the Workshop Software journey.
I’m really looking forward to the year ahead.
Let’s make 2026 a massive one — together.
