You’ll be able to run the reports for one period, and then for a subsequent period and analyse the results.
That’s where Product Categories and groups come in.
The simple set-up of the Categories, then allocating the appropriate groups to those categories will allow you to run the required reports to get the information you need. Simply run the Item Sales Report and output by Product Category to get totals for each category. You can even export the report to Excel and do some data manipulation in there.
