Harry has been employed at Workshop Software for over 4 years and is often the first person new customers speak to in detail while he matches the needs of the store owner to the many benefits of the product through online demonstrations.

 

Helping store owners to explore ways to retain their customers, increase $GP for servicing, automatically order parts and link to their accounting software are pillars of Harry’s daily routine. Knowing that there are no two businesses that have identical processes or requirements helps him tailor the product for each user to achieve their goals.

What do you see as the key benefits of Workshop Software?

There are so many amazing little time savers our software can deliver, it’s crazy how many businesses still hand write up invoices and jobs cards. For me, the ability to have online and fast access to vehicle history, current jobs in progress, bookings, electronic job cards and integrated parts ordering systems (like Repco & Burson in Australia) really help a business to be efficient and productive.

Our software aims to make business owners less time poor and more productive, no more are the days where you have to search through old filing cabinets to find a customer record and work out what you did last time they came in.

 

Which features do subscribers mention as the biggest help to their business?

Everyone invests into Workshop Software for different reasons. For me the key areas are the phone app which allows the workshops to go paperless, reminders within the communications centre which helps to retain your customers coming in the door, the parts integration for seamless transfer from your preferred parts suppliers straight into Workshop Software and booking diary to manage your jobs coming in and going out.

 

How do you recommend the product and help automotive store owners?

I help customers to drill into and identify areas of their business which sucks up too much time or can be automated. We also look into new ideas they may not currently have available with their current software provider. We pride ourselves in being the best Automotive Software in the world and are constantly involving and enhancing technology to keep subscribers ahead of their competitors.

 

What do you like to do in your spare time? 

One of my biggest hobbies is football (after my missus of course)! If I am not watching Manchester United play I am watching highlights, old games, talking about football with my mates over a few beers or training for my local club. I also get a kick out of scuba diving and learning about marine life or hanging out at the beach with friends.

 

Which elements of living on Sydney’s Northern Beaches do you enjoy?

Lots of awesome beaches and places to go scuba diving, great breweries and cafes and it always feels like there’s something new to do.

 

What’s a quality film, book, show, doco, game you have watched or played recently?

Film – Depends on my mood but anything by Christopher Nolan is always a good watch. I am quite a geek at heart so always enjoy a good Lord of the Rings, Star Wars or a Harry Potter marathon.

Book – Sir Alex Ferguson’s Biography – I maybe biased as he was the manager of my favourite football team but he is probably renowned as one of the best sporting managers ever.

Show – Anything by David Attenborough, I really love learning about nature particularly marine life, the knowledge that man has is insane, imagine the yarns you could have over a couple of cold ones!

Doco – Although I am a terrible basketball player and don’t know much about the sport, The Last Dance on Netflix was a great watch and very inspiring seeing how hard Michael Jordan pushed himself to be the best.

 

What’s your dream holiday, post COVID?

Would love to get myself over to the UK and meet more of my girlfriend’s family along with a road trip around Scotland.
