Q & A
Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL)
When your client chooses BNPL to pay in installments, here are some important points:
- You will be paid for the full amount of invoice in your next settlement (overnight). Many BNPL providers take many days to pay, with WorkshopPay you will be paid overnight.
- The responsibility of collecting payment lies solely on the financier. Even if the customer defaults on their payment, you still get paid (the financier takes on the payment risk, NOT your workshop).
- By default, your customer pays the fees for BNPL meaning that this is a no cost option for you.
- A great way to win more business when those unforeseen repairs are required, such as a customer who comes in for a service, and needs a set of tyres or other significant repair.
- Don’t lose a customer. By providing flexible payment options, you’ll be more likely to retain customers.
Which Bank can I use and when do I get funds?
One of the great features of WorkshopPay is that you can use any Australian Bank account and your funds will be deposited overnight. All your WorkshopPay transactions for any work day (including BNPL), will be deposited as a lump sum.
There is no need to change banks, and you have peace of mind that your funds arrive on time.
Here is a demonstration video on how Workshop Pay Works (Best to watch in Full Screen).
What are the set-up Costs?
ZERO. There are no costs to set-up WorkshopPay.
There are no ongoing costs other than normal Merchant and transaction fees (and terminal hire if applicable).
WorkshopPay is a merchant facility for clients of Workshop Software and attracts merchant fees. These fees will be charged on a monthly basis to the bank account you nominated when activating WorkshopPay on a monthly basis. The current fee structure is, but not limited to (please refer to your T&C’s upon signing your agreement):
Pay Now/Pay on Invoice – 1.35% (Can optionally oncharge this as a surcharge to your client)
Buy Now Pay Later – 4.95% (Default is to charge this as a surcharge to your client, so BNPL is a free service for your workshop)
The OnLine payment system is free to turn on. All fees can be passed onto your client. By default Buy Now Pay Later is set-up to pass on fees to your client, OnLine Pay Now default is for the workshop to pay the fees (both these settings can be changed).
If you would like to add an EFTPos terminal, the terminal fee is $30 per month.
A .30c transaction fee applies to all transactions.
Our suggestion is to activate at least the online option, as it costs you nothing to do so.
These fees may be subject to change and should be confirmed when deciding to activate WorkshopPay.
